Pediatric Urgent Care was founded in 2002 by Dr. S. Douglas Taylor and his wife Arlene to provide an alternative to the emergency room for the children of Jacksonville, North Carolina who became ill or injured after their regular pediatrician’s office closed. Pediatric Urgent Care is able to treat most types of minor emergencies including lacerations, burns, and fractures. Pediatric Urgent Care can provide intravenous hydration and medications and monitor heart rate and respiration. Pediatric Urgent Care recently added the ability to do diagnostic ultrasounds in the office.
Medical care at Pediatric Urgent Care is provided by Dr. S. Douglas Taylor who has more than thirty years experience caring for children.
Equally important with qualifications of the staff is the attitude toward our patients. Pediatric Urgent Care is a child-friendly place. We realize that coming to the doctor’s office can be a frightening experience for a child. We make every effort to make your child’s visit to our office as pleasant as possible. Most of our staff are parents (some are grandparents); we treat every child the way we would want our child treated. We pride ourselves that many parents tell us that when given a choice, their children ask to come to our office for their medical care.
Pediatric Urgent Care is a primary care provider for North Carolina Health Choice and Medicaid.
If your child has a medical problem and you cannot get in to see your regular pediatrician, Pediatric Urgent Care is here to serve you.
